National Nights Out/ Seven Oaks Community
2025 dates: Tuesday, August 5, 2025, Hrs. 4-7 pm EST.
August - Back-to-School Backpack Drive!
2025 dates: PREP DAY Friday, August 22, 2025, Hrs. 9-4 pm EST.
2025 dates: The actual event will be Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 12 pm to 4 pm EST.
Every Year, DFTH hosts our annual Back-to-School Backpack drive, during which we supply several school districts and local students/families with school-aged children with much-needed school supplies and backpacks. We try to make this event fun and exciting by offering games, ice cream or snow cones, and popcorn for the kids while they and their parents pick out their backpacks and school supplies. We also provide gift cards to support local families needing school supplies.

Every Year, DFTH hosts our annual Back-to-School Backpack drive, during which we supply several school districts and local students/families with school-aged children with much-needed school supplies and backpacks. We try to make this event fun and exciting by offering games, ice cream or snow cones, and popcorn for the kids while they and their parents pick out their backpacks and school supplies. November - Thanksgiving Food Drive!
2025 dates: PREP DAY Friday, November 21, 2025, Hrs. 9–4 pm EST.
2025 dates: The actual event will be Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 8 to 3 pm EST.
Every year, DFTH sponsors our annual Thanksgiving Food Drive, during which we supply several households with food or food cards for a month’s worth of groceries. We desire to assist those with enough food to make it through the holiday season. This process generally supports those who are already receiving SNAP benefits or those who need assistance. Low-income, disabled, US Veterans, Seniors, and anyone within the local DC, MD, and VA areas are welcome. We also work to provide food support to foster children as well as help support other non-profits in need of food donations.

December - Adopt-a-Family with Gap/Banana Republic/Old Navy Stores
2025 dates: TBD (these dates will be the week before Christmas). Dates have not yet been confirmed with stores.
This event is centered around the number of families the stores can support, along with any additional support our non-profit will provide.
DFTH, in collaboration with the GAP Stores, assists low-income families at the end of the year and during the Christmas Holiday Season. These families are selected based on need, and the stores, along with their staff members, in collaboration with our non-profit resources, help provide clothing for both the guardians/parents and the children, along with toys and gifts. This project is a big help for those who cannot afford to purchase clothing for their children and the guardian/parent. While this doesn't give them a year-round wardrobe, it is a tremendous help during winter.
